纽约联储前主席William Dudley表示，近期美国通胀飙升看似是短期的，但随着人们重新复工回到工作岗位上，通胀可能在未来几年的时间内延续下去。
Dudley说：“当前的通胀恐慌可能在明年就会缓解，但如果把视线再放远一点，我们会看到通胀将持续超过美联储政策目标的2%。”
最近几周对于通胀的讨论充斥着整个市场，投资者们都在担心CPI的快速上行会导致美联储提前进入加息通道，尤其是4月美国核心CPI同比大涨4.2%之后。
尽管此前美联储曾表示，允许通胀在加息前高于目标的2%一段时间。
Dudley表示现在推动通胀上行的因素都会随着时间减弱，例如供应不足以及基数效应。
但Dudley同时也说到，美联储在年底前就会讨论缩表。几位美联储官员也证实了他的观点，并称现在是时候开始讨论缩减QE规模了，认为出售这些金融资产将减少货币供应量以此来缓解通胀。
达拉斯联储主席Robert Kaplan上周也曾表示，美国房地产市场的潜在过度增长和其它通胀迹象都表明美联储是应该开始缓慢缩减QE规模了。
