在全球高压监管网越织越密的态势下，印度似乎有意要为加密货币留出一片发展空间。
21世纪经济报道记者注意到，当地时间周一（5月31日），印度央行发布公告称，加密货币交易在印度并未被禁止。此消息一出，备受打击的加密货币市场应声抬头，比特币等在本周迎来大幅上涨。
印度央行在公告中表示，不要以其在2018年的通知为理由来阻碍加密货币交易，因为印度最高法院已经撤销了该命令。但同时，印度央行也指出，银行必须继续对这些交易采取其他常规尽职调查措施。
“投资加密货币在印度一直是100%合法的，央行的新公告明确确认了与加密货币公司进行交易的权利。” 印度历史最悠久的加密货币交易所ZebPay联合首席执行官Avinash Shekhar表示，印度央行的表态将吸引更多印度投资者购买虚拟货币。
事实上，印度政府近几年一直在打击加密货币在本国的交易。除了2018年的通知，印度央行在去年4月份曾宣布禁止印度各银行销售或购买虚拟货币，彼时印度持有虚拟货币持的投资者已达到500万人。
而在今年早些时候，外媒报道称，印度政府将禁止加密货币交易，对在该国交易甚至持有此类资产的人处以罚款。
更有消息称，印度政府正在就《禁止加密货币和官方监管数字货币2019年法案》进行讨论。根据该法案，在印度持有、购买、出售比特币等加密货币的行为都是犯罪行为，将判处1-10年监禁。
彼时，有印度政府官员表示，上述法案将是世界上针对加密货币最严格的监管政策之一，印度当局会给加密货币持有者6个月的时间处理此类资产。
但从印度央行最新的表态来看，上述法案落地前景已变得模糊不清。与此同时，加密货币在过去几周接连遭受重创后，在本周迎来一波反弹。截至记者发稿，比特币价格徘徊在36000美元以上，以太坊价格徘徊在2600美元左右。
