马斯克周三在推特上表示，出于对“用化石燃料开采比特币的使用量迅速增加”的担忧，特斯拉已“暂停使用比特币购买汽车”。
在今年2月提交给美国证券交易委员会（SEC）的一份文件中，特斯拉透露，该公司购买了价值15亿美元的比特币，未来可能会投资更多比特币或其他加密货币。
当时，该公司表示将开始接受比特币作为其产品的支付方式。
特斯拉对加密货币的支持推动了比特币和狗狗币等加密货币的价格在最近几个月飙升。
马斯克发推称，对比特币对环境造成影响表示担忧，但特斯拉不会出售任何比特币。特斯拉正在考虑使用能源消耗更低的加密货币。加密货币在很多水平上是一个好的想法，相信其未来具有前景，但这不能以环境为代价。
