国际货币基金组织（IMF）的官方外汇储备货币构成（COFER）调查显示，2020年第四季度，各国央行持有的美元储备份额降至59%，这是25年来的最低水平。同时，美国商品期货交易委员会（CFTC）的最新数据显示对冲基金减少了黄金空头仓位，一些分析师表示，金价突破1850美元，可能是对冲基金和基金经理在等待增加对黄金市场的投机仓位的信号。
各国央行美元储备份额降至25年最低
IMF的数据显示，自1999年引入欧元以来，各国央行储备中持有的美元资产份额下降了12个百分点。欧元的份额一直在20%左右。与此同时，澳元、加元和人民币的汇率在第四季度升至9%。IMF指出，如果这一趋势持续下去，抛售美元的行为可能会影响更广泛的货币和债券市场。
一些分析人士说，这在一定程度上反映出，面对各国央行在国际交易中使用的其他货币的竞争，美元在全球经济中的地位正在下降。如果央行储备的变化足够大，就会影响到货币和债券市场。”
美元在全球外汇储备中所占比重下降的主要原因是短期汇率和各国央行放弃美元的决定。IMF表示：“从更长远的角度看，美元的价值基本没有变化，而美元在全球储备中所占的份额有所下降，这表明各国央行确实在逐渐放弃美元。”IMF补充称，随着新兴市场脱离美元，它们将继续发挥关键作用。

分析师预计美元将继续走软，央行目光将转向黄金
Roubini Macro Associates首席执行官、纽约大学斯特恩商学院教授鲁比尼（Nouriel Roubini）是认为美元价值会随着时间不断贬值的人之一。
鲁比尼表示：“我们有非常庞大的财政赤字和经常账户赤字。由于财政刺激，我们的经常账户赤字将随着时间的推移变得更大。从结构上讲，美元必须走弱。过去，当美联储加息时，有足够的资本流入来保持美元强势。但现在美联储的利率为零，而且就目前所能看到的而言，正在实施量化宽松，资本账户将不会提供足够的资金流入来维持美元。”他补充说，这引发了全球投资者从美元转向黄金的趋势。
鲁比尼表示：“中央银行拥有大量的美元资产，他们必须逐渐减少这些资产。他们不希望引发本国货币升值，需要将目光转向美国无法攫取的东西，那就是黄金。各国央行已经开始从美国国债转向黄金。这就是为什么黄金价格在2018年至去年年中上涨了60%。而美国将美元作为外交政策工具和武器的趋势将最终削弱美元，并逐渐提高黄金价格。”
金价一旦突破1850美元将吸引对冲基金的多头押注

德国商业银行（Commerzbank）的大宗商品分析师表示，CFTC的最新报告有些过时，因为金价的涨势始于最新调查期结束时。该行补充称，投资者对黄金ETF产品的需求激增，为这种贵金属的新势头提供了更好的描述。
黄金强劲上涨势头增强
分析师表示：“实际利率可能进一步滑向负值，这应该会使黄金作为一种无息投资和通胀对冲工具更具吸引力。鉴于这一发展，投资者似乎再次对黄金ETF表现出更大的兴趣。全球最大的黄金ETF SPDR gold Trust周五报告了近6吨的流入，这是自1月中旬以来最显著的日资金流入，”
道明证券（TD Securities）的分析师表示：“预计金价突破每盎司1850美元只是时间问题。考虑到美国名义利率呈下降趋势，即使曲线上的盈亏平衡进一步上升，这意味着额外的价格上行压力，未来几周应该会出现更多的空头回补和新的多头。”令人失望的就业报告显示，工资增幅和失业率均高于预期，暗示金价将挑战1850美元/盎司附近的技术阻力位。”
华侨银行（OCBC Bank）的经济学家周一在一份报告中说，他们也在密切关注1850美元。他们表示：“1800美元水平现在似乎是黄金的新的支撑位，我们预计，在美国表现不佳的劳动力市场报告的支持下，短期内黄金的买入兴趣将进一步上升。”
