美国最大的银行之一和加拿大最大的资管巨头抢滩加密货币基金。
据CoinDesk周一报道，美国最大的银行之一摩根大通将在今年晚些时候向客户推出主动管理型比特币基金，此举将标志着摩根大通的业务重心发生重大变化，而该行的CEO在不到四年前还称比特币是“危险的欺诈”。
CoinDesk表示，这只基金将提供给摩根大通私人财富部门的客户。此前，摩根大通在华尔街的竞争对手摩根士丹利在今年早些时候推出了一项举措，为Galaxy Digital、FS Investments和NYDIG等私人客户提供比特币基金。
该消息传出之际，比特币周一一度暴力反弹超过10%，站上54000美元/枚。比特币的主流接受度也在激增，PayPal上月公布计划，将允许其客户使用加密货币购买商品和服务，使用范围涵盖世界各地2900万多万家商户。
然而，比特币在商品和服务交易中的应用仍然非常小，美国银行最近的一项研究指出，比特币复杂的结算程序带来巨大的环境成本，也是其交易处理速度缓慢的一个因素，比特币每小时只有1.4万笔交易。相比之下，Visa每小时处理超过2.36亿笔交易。
不过随着像特斯拉、Square 、Twitter等大公司增加比特币投资，以及散户投资者以创纪录的速度涌入加密货币世界，摩根大通决定维护其客户的利益具有商业意义。
无独有偶，CI Global Asset Management（CI GAM）周一宣布推出CI以太坊基金（CI Ethereum Fund），这是全球首只投资以太坊的共同基金，以太坊是建立在以太坊区块链上的加密货币，CI Global Asset Management是加拿大管理资产规模最大的投资管理公司。CI GAM的母公司CI Financial的首席执行官Kurt MacAlpine表示：
“CI GAM是世界上唯一一家通过ETF和共同基金提供方便、低成本和安全的两大加密货币敞口的公司。重要的是，这些产品允许投资者通过他们的财务顾问访问这些数字资产，并可以加入到投资者现有的投资组合和投资计划中。随着数字资产日益成为主流，在数字资产领域建立领导地位是CI GAM的一个重要使命。”
CI以太坊基金的投资目标是通过机构级基金平台为持有人提供以太坊的敞口。投资CI以太坊基金的主要好处包括以方便的方式获得对以太坊的敞口，由于其与其他资产类别的相关性较低，它提供了潜在的多样化好处。
