尽管一些经济学家和政治家担心，随着经济逐渐走好，通胀率可能会飙升，但哈克称，他担心的是相反的情况，即通胀过低。他表示，从长期来看，美联储希望通胀率运行在2%的目标之上，以弥补长期达不到目标的情况。“我们没有看到通胀失控，如果确实如此，我们会采取相应行动。”
