2月份，随着美债暴跌，日本投资者为削减损失开始由美国主权债券净买家转变为净卖家，减持规模达到6187亿日元（约56亿美元）。据统计，这是日本自去年8月以来首次单月净卖出美债。
NLI Research Institute驻东京高级经济学家上野刚志表示，随着2月份美债收益率引领全球收益率走高，净卖出其他国家主权债券已经成为日本投资者的主要立场，毕竟投资者希望减少损失。
三菱日联摩根士丹利证券驻东京高级市场经济学家井上健太称，拜登政府的疫情纾困法案提高了人们对美国更强劲经济复苏的预期，并推动债券走低，因此日本投资者降低了利率风险敞口。他补充说，可能还有一些卖盘自此获利了结。
值得注意的是，除了美债，根据日本周四公布的国际收支数据，该国对澳大利亚国债的减持规模也达到创纪录的水平。
据统计，日本2月份对澳大利亚主权债券的净卖出规模达到6430亿日元，创出2005年有记录以来最高水平。
东海东京证券首席策略师佐野一彦表示，2月份日本基金一直在卖出澳大利亚和新西兰的主权债券，央行的货币政策承诺让他们感到担忧。
此前，澳大利亚10年期国债收益率2月底升破1.9%，而美国10年期国债收益率在当月于1.6%左右见顶。
此外，日本财务省的另一份月度数据显示，该国寿险公司在3月份连续第九个月净卖出外国债券。
