美股市场在过去数月稳步上涨，追踪美国大型股的罗素1000指数和追踪美国小型股东罗素2000指数在7月和8月均出现明显上涨。
根据全球指数提供商富时罗素的数据和看法，随着美国投资者情绪达到拐点，股市上涨的趋势在秋天可能会或不会延续。
罗素1000指数在截至8月25日的第三季度上涨了11.5%，截至8月25日的8月涨幅为5.4%，全年截至目前的涨幅为8.4%。
罗素2000指数较2020年初仍有5%的跌幅，不过分别在第二季度与8月份上涨了9.2%和6.2%。
富时罗素全球股票市场研究董事总经理PhilipLawlor表示：
“美股市场继续受益于美联储刺激政策，美联储主席鲍威尔近期在杰克逊·霍尔全球央行年会的讲话加强了该政策，因为美联储继续保持购买资产以及未来进一步降息的选项，从而迫使资金从储蓄账户转入投资。不过随着时间进入秋季，市场已经达到明显的拐点，投资者开始权衡对选举不确定性的担忧，以及民主党大获全胜后可能随之而来的更高税率以及更严格监管的潜在负面影响。另外，疫情影响仍是全球市场的不确定因素，美国市场投资者的情绪可能会受到潜在的“第二波”疫情的重大打击。”
