摩根大通（JP Morgan Chase）在最近的一份报告中警告称，央行数字货币（CBDC）对美元在世界经济中的主导地位会产生负面影响。
中国央行已经开始试用其数字人民币，而其他许多主要的货币监管机构也正在认真考虑发行数字货币。尽管数字货币会影响许多法定货币，但会破坏美元的地缘政治优势。
该行的多位分析师，包括美国利率衍生品策略负责人乔希·扬格（Josh Younger）和首席美国经济学家迈克尔·费罗里（Michael Feroli）表示：“没有哪个国家比美国更能从数字货币的破坏潜力中遭受损失。”
此类CBDC可能损害美元的两个最具影响力的领域是贸易结算和SWIFT消息传递系统。如果这些国家可以绕开SWIFT系统，那么美国将很难实施国际制裁和恐怖分子融资执法。这主要围绕美元霸权。发行全球储备货币以及商品，货物和服务国际贸易的交换媒介具有巨大的优势。
摩根大通（JP Morgan）表示，央行有合理的理由引入数字货币，但可能不会产生任何变革性影响。该银行还认为，美元的全球支配地位不能在一夜之间被推翻，关键领域仍然是“最脆弱的”。
该报告补充说：“提供基于数字美元的跨境支付解决方案，尤其是在设计上以最小程度地破坏国内金融体系结构的情况下，将是一项非常适度的投资，用以保护在全球经济中投射力量的关键手段。”
同时，高盛还安排召开电话会议，讨论有关“通货膨胀，黄金和比特币”的政策。
