美国当地时间周六(6日)参议院以50票对49票的些微差距通过1.9兆美元纾困法案。法案通过后预计下周二(9日)将送至众议院表决，待众院通过后，该法案将由美国总统签署生效。
参议院在表决过程中，美国共和党参议员全数反对，不过因共和党籍阿拉斯加州参议员苏利文(Dan Sullivan) 缺席，所以民主党则以1 票的差距通过纾困法案。但因为该法案与之前众议院送交的内容有所不同，因此需要再送回众议院表决。而外界认为众议院民主党有绝对优势，因此通过纾困案已无悬念。
该法案将一次发放给大多数美国人1400美元、延长紧急失业救济金、COVID-19疫苗和检测费用、各州、城市、学校和医疗产业的支出，以及实施减税以援助低收入族群。
而在美国参议院通过1.9兆美元的纾困案后，参院民主党领袖舒默（Chuck Schumer）指出民主党后续仍可能考虑更多的刺激措施，这将取决于未来几个月美国经济和疫情发展情况。
他表示国会的目标是帮助美国民众，如果他们需要更多的援助，我们还会通过另一个法案。如果1.9 兆纾困案已足够，且带来了很大的帮助，那么国会就不会再通过另一个法案。
同时美国众议院多数党领袖霍耶尔（Steny Hoyer）也发文说，众院将于下周二表决参院通过的版本。在众院通过后，就会送交至白宫给拜登签署。拜登希望能在3 月14 日前，也就是额外联邦失业补助到期日之前签署该法案。
